Known for his comic timing, today is the day to talk about our very own Sumeet Vyas. Sumeet Vyas is the reason, we were all glued to YouTube once. Back in 2014 when India's first web series was launched by TVF, everybody went insane about the acting skills of Meekesh aka Miki.
After that Vyas was seen in various web series by The Viral fever and the audience went head over heels for him. From permanent roommates to Tripling to Official CEOgiri, Sumeet has played all his portrayals in the best possible ways.
Besides acting, Vyas is also a writer and has written scripts for TVF, Tripling (in which he also plays the eldest sibling, Chandan) season 1 and 2. His writing fronts also include Vicky Kaushal-starrer "Love Per Square Foot" and "Bang Baaja Baarat" for Y-Films. He says, "Acting is leisure job, writing is fulfilling".
Vyas told PTI in an interview, "As artists we feel the need to stimulate ourselves all the time and sometimes the opportunity that I get as an actor may not scale up for me to stimulate myself. So in that sense writing really helps. There are so many parts that I can play as an actor but there are a lot many that I can build while I am writing,"
Talking about his career graph, in OTT he says, “After the comedy shows Permanent Roommates and Tripling, I would get similar kinds of roles, so I consciously choose otherwise. I changed the trajectory of my career and opted for dramatic roles in shows including The Verdict - State vs Nanavati. It’s Not that Simple playing grey roles but it was fun as it broke the image that people saw me in. The OTT medium allowed me to do so. Had I been a TV or film actor essentially, it might have not been so easily possible. Makers wouldn’t have the confidence to change the image of an actor. OTT changed the game for me. I got a number of opportunities in my career and through OTT I feel I reached a large number of viewers,” says Vyas.
