This song is raw, lyrically simple and brilliant. It has even received recognition from the legend A.R Rahman himself and has been featured in some of the top Spotify Playlists – Chai & Acoustic and Sad Indie Bops – it has crossed 350k+ streams since its release in April 2020.
Bhatnagar says, that her latest single, was an uncomfortable feeling, a feeling of always walking on eggshells around someone in a constant fear of upsetting that one person who was instead supposed to protect and love her. She explains that the song is a conversation that she always wanted to have with her loved ones but could not because of its nature.”
She further adds that women or men, no one should ever accept themseleves melting into cracks of an abusive relationships; every person as an individual, deserves better. Her words were “love is never enough, True companionship thrives on respect and compassion.”
New Delhi based singer experienced her childhood memories at varied places as her father belonged to Army. While recalling her days back with parents she says that her mother introduced and taught her the keyboard when Tanmaya was just a child.
But she only had an incline towards music after she underwent through a a lot of emotional turmoil because her mother was suffering from schizophrenia. Later in her life she started to write her own music after experiencing separation from a loved one.
She takes inspiration from artists like Patrick Watson, Bon Iver, Elliott Smith, Lucy Rose, Billie Marten, and her mother being her main source of inspiration. After a skyrocketing debut album the singer expects to work with Abhilasha Sinha, Ditty, Osho Jain from India.
Her new upcoming album has its release date on November 6th, 2020 – I Can’t Go Back To Sleep – which will be available on all streaming platforms . She has also bagged her first Movie Deal – with Saragapama. She herself has not only composed the song , but has also written, and sung for 'Comedy Couple' a movie which is to be released on 21st of October 2020 on Zee5. All this certainly proofs that this soulful bird is not only hard working but also ambitious towards music.
