Okay so here it is, today Humans of YouTube presents to you story of Dolly Singh aka Raju ki Mummy aka Guddi Bhabhi aka Zeenat paaji and the list continues. She has created and played millions of role- all humorous, relatable, beautiful and relevant in their own ways.
We all know Dolly Singh from her initial days as Fashion Blogger @spillthesass to now a million strong Instagram influencer and YouTuber.
We have seen her grow from living in a small simple house, in Nainital to gifting her parents a new house all by herself. The credit indeed goes to her creativity, commitment to churn new content, and being relatable at all times.
Dolly is NIFT graduate and hails from a beautiful city, Nainital. In initial periods of her struggle, she did internship at iDiva and then got the job of writer, their itself. She says “This was the time when Facebook gave iDiva a contract to make videos. We swung into action but we were short of actors. All of us jumped in and did some multi-tasking. I became the producer, writer and then ended up acting.” That's when her journey from a fashion blogger took a turn into an actor. Her Raju ki Mummy video went viral and audience was head over heels, for watching her content.
But fame, they say, brings with it complications and hate. Her large following on social media does have its disadvantages as well. During her spill the sass times, on one hand hundreds of people used to follow her and adore her where as on the other hand she was bullied for being skinny. And even now the hate has floored it's way with success.
Dolly, who is learning to ignore hate-comments, says she is getting used to cyber-bullying. “Sometimes I ignore, sometimes I block, sometimes I react (rarely these days),” she admits, adding that getting over the ‘imposter syndrome’ was a very difficult part of her career. “I was questioning and doubting my achievements. It was a tough phase but thankfully I am out of it with help from friends, colleagues and family.”
Our little, resolute bird was endeavourous and did not allow herself to loose confidence and hope.
And now with all the stardom in her hands, she still works hard day-in and out, even on weekends. In a world where it is believed that girls can't be funny or humorous or responsible Dolly Singh has proved that they better can!
