The gap between self-doubt and self-love can be traversed by owning your flaws, says @thatbohogirl aka Kirtika Khurana

When it comes to creating content for fashion bloggers it used to be always about a perfect body and elegant poses, it was more like fit-in fashion. But in the current scenario, fashion influencers, have become more empathetic towards their body and instead of conventional fit-in fashion they have moved towards crowd-out fashion. The kind of fashion which is more relatable to common masses.

Gone are the fancy vacations and the jet set life as all this has been traded for comfort and relieved fashion. Fashion blogger Kritika Khurana is one of the best examples of slipping into fashionable outfits that are more solace for individual body.

Kirtika who goes by the Instagram handle @thatbohogirl, with a massive following of about a million, creates fun, light-hearted and practical content, whether it’s a tutorial on how to create a messy bun or a video on how to dress when you’re pear-shaped. She’s also an ardent fan of bohemian fashion.

Kirtika, in initial period of her career went through a lot of hate and thus she used to break out. But she paved her way into self love and self worth and that is when she realized that self acceptance is one of the most important characteristics in one's life.

She says," I work day in & day out to not just show everyone the best parts of me, but the worst too. I make it my mission that everyone who watches me knows that nothing worth having comes easy. I’ve actively chosen to not hide my shortcomings from the world – it’s important for me that they know they’re not alone in their heartbreaks & their failures."

In an interview for Humans of Bombay, she tells her story of how she went through all of it. Not only this, now that she has a platform, she wants to help everybody around and use it effectively.

There are days, when we stand in front of the mirror and having internalized all the bullshit beauty standards, look at ourselves from the lens of those very standards. Our self-confidence dwindles and it affects all the domains of our life. At such time self-love is the only bar that could raise us high.
